In the article”Are women really better at multitasking?”in The Week from July 20,2010,the author gives an idea of women are better than men juggling more than one task at a same time. A team of British researchers had an experiment of 50 men and 50 women has eight minutes to show three tasks at once. The results of the experiment was 70 percents of them performed better than their average male counterparts. Women can handle the same problems and tasks logically than men. However, in the research there is a proof that multitasking applies to both genders and it connects with basic structure of the brain. After reading this article, I’m surprised to find out both women and men are multitasker. I always hear that women are better multi taskers but I have yet to truly experience that. There is no difference of between men and women multitasking in any field.
My view is that both women and men are good at multitasking but in the different fields. As we can see a women can manage the household activities much better than men because it is their daily routine. Women are able to do all the household works, able to look after their children and can maintain both social and family relations whereas men are good at work attending calls and having coffee at the same time. For example, most women including my mom, when she gets ready for dinner she makes 2 or 3 meals at a same time, clean up the kitchen and answer the questions about where my stuffs are. She handles a lot of things at once. Also, men and women are multi taskers but in different place. When men are works in their office like my friend Johann, he works for JP Morgan. He drinks a coffee every morning while he go to work. Also, he takes phone calls while he drinks a coffee and prepares presentations for his work. Both are amazing to be multi tasking but differently in the work place.
Another reason is women and men are multi taskers in outside.When men and women go out meeting a friends, they are talking while they drink a coffee and checking an email or answering phone calls or texting to others. It is not only women can do but men can do at a same time,also. We can't say that who is better or not. Everyone can do at the same time while they doing something. For example, I went a bar with my friends Sam, Esther and Steve on last Friday, they do same thing as everyone do. Steve was talking about his work, Sam and Esther were listening what he said. In the meanwhile, they were on the social media, looked up the emails and answered the Steve’s questions. They were good at multi tasking at once. There are a lot of things to do at the same time and it is not matters of gender from my experience.
In conclusion, I think men and women are multi taskers in different fields. They both have a different jobs in different circumstances. Also, they have a different situation and responsible for their work. I think there is no answer who is good or bad for multi tasking so men and women are both multi taskers.
